KINGSPORT — Two local employers are looking to recruit employees this week.
Ballad Health and Tri-Cities Airport Authority will be hosting two separate employment events this week in Kingsport and Blountville.
Ballad will host a hiring event Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Heritage Room at Holston Valley Medical Center.
Top jobs in demand at the event include RNs, LPNs, CNAs; medical laboratory technicians and medical technologists; and several diagnostic imaging roles, including X-ray technologists, ultrasound technicians, CT technologists, MRI technologists, and nuclear medicine technologists.
“Our team members are our most critical resource, and we are committed to developing and cultivating that resource, namely recruiting and growing our employee base,” said Hamlin Wilson, vice president of Ballad Health Employee Relations, in a press release. “The past two years have given new meaning to the work of clinical staff, and the addition of more compassionate healthcare professionals will strengthen the team, as well as the quality of healthcare provided in our communities.
Interested candidates should bring their resume and prepare for an on-site interview, the statement said. The event is focused on filling clinical positions, but applicants will be considered for all open positions. Full-time and part-time positions are available.
According to the release, flexible shifts, which include partial four-, six-, or eight-hour shifts, are available at Ballad’s acute care facilities. Positions eligible for flextime include all clinical roles, including Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Practical Nurses/CPNs, and Behavioral Health Technicians. The release also says the health system is also offering sign-on bonuses of up to $15,000 for select nursing and clinical positions in Ballad Health’s service area.

The Tri-Cities Airport will also host a job-focused event Tuesday from noon to 4 p.m.
The TCAA will host the job fair for airlines looking to hire multiple candidates for a variety of available positions to “meet increasing travel demand,” a TCAA press release said. .
The show, which brings together some of the airport’s tenants and aviation partners, will take place on the airport mezzanine in the main terminal building.
