Mayor Brian Arrigo and the City of Revere Veterans Services Office, under the leadership of U.S. Army Veteran Marc Silvestri, will host a Vietnam Veterans Day Breakfast on March 29 at 9 a.m. at the VFW Mottolo Post, 61 Lucia Ave.

The event marks the fifth annual National Vietnam War Veterans Day observance that recognizes U.S. military veterans who served in the Vietnam War.

Donald Boudreau, staff member of the Office of Veterans Services, expects a large attendance at the luncheon.

“All veterans are welcome to join us for breakfast,” Boudreau said. “I think it’s a good thing to do. We appreciate the service of our veterans to the country.

General Counsel Ira Novoselsky, former National Commander of Jewish Veterans, will attend the breakfast.

“I can’t wait for breakfast,” Novoselsky said. “I am happy that Marc has made it an annual event. It’s good to bring our veterans together periodically.

State Representatives Jessica Giannino and Jeffrey Turco, along with State Senator Lydia Edwards and local officials received breakfast invites

“I am honored to join Mayor Arrigo and our VA Director Marc Silvestri at this breakfast to honor our Vietnam Veterans,” Rep. Giannino (D-Revere) said. “I once read that ‘our Vietnam veterans taught us that regardless of our positions on politics, as Americans and patriots, we must support all of our soldiers with our thoughts and prayers’.”
