ASIRT held its flagship monthly information exchange event – TECHDAY

Kaustubh Kulkarni, the host of TECHDAY, welcomed all the guests and invited Sanjay Ruparel – President, ASIRT to kick off the event. Sanjay anecdotally explained how a group of like-minded IT entrepreneurs came together for the benefit of the community at large and founded ASIRT. The audience warmly applauded these pioneers and visionaries.
Sanjay then explained ASIRT’s slogan and pillars, which are Partner, Progress and Evolve. Over the past 10 years, ASIRT has contributed to increasing the presence, weight and prosperity of 210 partners.

The main takeaways from his presentation were:
• ASIRT is the only IT association that organizes its renowned monthly TECHDAYS. It is the busiest monthly technology exchange and the feedback after each event has been overwhelmingly positive.
• ASIRT has focused on SYSTEM INTEGRATORS and this dedicated focus has
has resulted in positive growth among all of its members.
• ASIRT has been able to grow as an association and to differentiate itself thanks to its unique CONSORTIA, which have been formed with a great deal of analysis and foresight. Members of a consortium share their skills and alliances and together the members are able to address complex use cases in front of their customers.

The membership team was commended for the excellent job they were doing in integrating new
members. A few of the new members who recently joined ASIRT were introduced to everyone by Jayesh Sompura who is on the membership committee.

Mayank Thakkar of Lym Technologies (CCTV), Hiten Sanghvi of Activvolt Tech
Solutions (Power and IT Solutions), Nilesh Tupe from Hard-disk Repairing Center (Data Recovery Solutions), Pratik Shah from ITCG (Value Added Distributor for Cyber Security, Backup and Storage Solutions) and Keyur Doshi from Microcare Services ( Genuine and Transparent Computer Services) were invited on stage to quickly introduce themselves and their organizations to the community.

This was followed by sessions from both ASIRT TECHDAY sponsors.

The first to speak was Sumeet Kela – Founder and CTO of Net Protector Anti-Virus, Gold Sponsor for ASIRT TECHDAY. He spoke about NPAV’s journey from a family-run systems integrator to a reputable international cybersecurity AV solutions company. One important point that everyone noted was that NPAV was a growing company under the “Make In India” banner with a long list of international certifications in the field of cyber protection. he informed everyone about the possibility of working with NPAV on the GeM portal since they were registered there and were doing a great job of protecting Indian government entities.

Also noteworthy was their strong presence in Indian educational institutes as well as some mid-sized banks and finance companies. Some of the key features he shared about the NPAV were:
1. Low processing required to run; therefore, NPAV was useful even for those buying refurbished PCs
2. Ransomware Money Back Guarantee
3. 100% Data Protection Guarantee

He talked about their flagship use cases: Total Security, Z-Security for automatic cloud backup of critical data, and Total Windows Server Protection for physical and virtual servers. Major features like Endpoint Security for LAN & Cloud, Web Control, Web Firewall Gateways, Enterprise Backup, Password Vaulting, Secure RDP Management, Windows 10 Boosting and Document Locker have been well accepted by government and enterprise. He also introduced their latest product called EduSafe Firewall to protect Android mobiles and tablets used by minors. The session was very interactive with many quality questions answered by Sumeet.

Sumeet had a key message for everyone: “NPAV is like a medicine pill that the ASIRT community (IT doctors) can prescribe to customers (patients) to keep their infrastructure healthy. Due to our focus on R&D to improve system performance as well as sufficient protection, working with us as a partner is beneficial in ensuring customer loyalty as well as helping partners improve the results of selling our products. When you combine that with our 200 R&D engineers and over 100 technical support staff, you have a great message to send to your customers.

The next sponsorship session was moderated by S Viswanathan – Founder and CEO of Inspace
Technologies, co-sponsor. He started his session with an interesting note that he was here to positively impact the balance sheet of everyone present. He talked about Inspace being in the IT services space and recently expanding into the US and UK markets with over 300 people and over 1000 customers with 80% repeat customer buying cycles. He went on to talk about a new vertical service process called IT audit, which is recognized by the Indian government with a copyright for the HRD ministry process.

This was basically to ensure monetization of services that would otherwise have been provided for free to customers. Services begin with a statement of the customer’s problem, an in-depth audit of their network, infrastructure, systems and software using a certified audit team, and a detailed gap analysis with the budget and time required by the customer to correct the discrepancies. Services included a digital transformation readiness audit with digital SWOT analysis, a VAPT audit, an ERP and other software audit, and an IT Capex and Opex audit to review IT spend and processes. He then explained the different ways ASIRT partners can work with the Inspace team on a recurring or one-time commission basis.

Viswanathan recalls, “Partners leave money on the table by offering free services to clients. It is high time to monetize this. We can help customers audit their
systems and processes thoroughly so that ASIRT partners can get their due for the effort, and customers are aware of gaps in their configuration, for which they can make decisions to mitigate risk. It’s a win-win for everyone! Our organization believes in trust, teamwork and transparency, ensuring that whether an ASIRT member just refers or owns a client opportunity, the client is locked in with the partner forever.

The last session of TECHDAY was dedicated to the ASIRT Evolve Speaker. The Evolve sessions are another first for any IT association, where speakers are invited to speak on a variety of topics such as communication, health and wellness, finance, human resources, and more. to exchange views between the subject matter expert and ASIRT members. The guest Evolve speaker for TECHDAY was Nancy Shah, to interact and talk about body language – language without barriers.

Nancy is a well-known body language expert, in addition to being a widely followed public speaking coach and EMCEE. She began in front of a very attentive and bloated audience with the statement, “Humans are meaning-making machines – because body language is one of the main factors in making that first impression.” The session was important as it touched on how ASIRT partners can present themselves to their customers, partners and employees more effectively.

The session was very participatory and the anecdotes and picture cues shown during the session made people realize how we are judged by others since we were doing the same after seeing these picture cues about emotions, this what would have happened, what was wrong, etc. The main takeaway proven by examples was that body language would be most effective with speech.

An important point made by Nancy was: “ZERO nervousness is overconfidence!” Everyone feels nervous and being nervous is normal. How to hide that nervousness with the right body language is something good speakers and successful people have realized over time. Because you’re nervous, you try to be more prepared, which actually helps build more confidence.

So, hiding your nervousness behind a smile, hand gestures, or posture is something you can work on. Also, be aware of the culture of the people you are interacting with, as the regular gestures you can use can mean something completely different there! It is therefore important that we are aware of our surroundings and work on being calm.

The TECHDAY has officially concluded after these interesting sessions and perspectives. The host thanked everyone for attending and asked everyone to look forward to the next TECHDAY announcement. The overall prospects for success of these sessions could be determined by the fact that there were many interactions between ASIRT members with sponsors and the Evolve speaker even after the sessions ended.
