The COLUMBIANA–Columbiana Region Chamber of Commerce celebrates the 69th Annual Awards Banquet at 6 p.m. on April 9. The event will highlight what CEO Erich Offenburg describes as an evening honoring big business and citizens.

“It’s the creme de la creme. They’re all community nominees and it’s a great way to say thank you,” said Offenburg.

The banquet will take place at the Best Western Dutch Haus Inn Ballroom and tickets will cost $35 per person and $280 for a table of 8 people. Everyone is invited to dress their best in cocktail attire for an Oscar-themed party featuring a buffet-style dinner with dessert, cash bar, comedy and stories behind successful businesses.

The banquet will be hosted by WFMJ’s Andrew DiPaolo and Columbiana-based Conkle Brothers will perform during dinner.

“It’s a great evening” Offenburg noticed. “It’s really sincere.”

The Columbiana Area Chamber of Commerce recognizes community success with the banquet each year to advance community and business efforts. The banquet honoring the achievements of businesses and citizens involves a lot of planning, nominations and other preparations while fostering networking according to Offenburg.

In coordination with the Oscar theme, Harvey S. Firestone Awards sponsored by Humtown Products will be given away. The Harvey S. Firestone Awards will be presented in five categories ranging from best use of flyers to community connections.

Other awards include Educator of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year, Outstanding Community Service Award, Young Entrepreneur of the Year, Businessperson of the Year, Lifetime Service, Business of the Year and several business development awards.

Offenburg noted that this year’s lifetime achievement award goes to someone known for their involvement in community theater, dog park, council and library.

“He’s so generous to different causes and he has such a wide range of causes,” said Offenburg.
