Local musicians will host a benefit concert for educators | News, Sports, Jobs

Makaha Sons, Pure Heart (photo), Robi Kahakalau, the Camarillo ohana and Jake Shimabukuro will perform during “Teach Our Future”.

HONOLULU – The Hawaii Foundation for Educators (HFE) partners with iconic local musicians Jake Shimabukuro, Pure Heart, Robi Kahakalau, Camarillo ohana and Makaha Sons to host “Teaching our future”, a benefit concert for educators in public schools.

Hosted by Billy V. and sponsored by Leu Okuda & Doi Attorneys at Law, the show will be available live worldwide and take place at the Hawaii Theater with a limited audience in person on Saturday August 7 at 6 p.m.

Tickets for the live broadcast are available at www.hawaiitheatre.com/TeachOurFuture for $ 15 plus fees and taxes.

Proceeds will help HFE continue its mission of providing professional development activities to educators in Hawaii.

It is an opportunity to promote our cause of supporting the dreams of passionate teachers to improve the education system and to raise the status of educators ”, said Wilbert Holck, HFE board member and executive director of the Hawaii State Teachers Association.

“Teaching our future” is one of the first in-person events for Hawaii Theater in 2021.
