The First Division Museum at Cantigny Park in Wheaton will host two free online history lectures in December.
The first presentation is titled âRendezvous with History: Brothers in Valorâ and is scheduled for Thursday, December 2 at 7pm. It features author Robert F. Jefferson discussing his book “Brothers in Valor: The Battlefield Stories of the 89 African Americans Medal of Honor Award Winner.”
The next presentation is “A Day That Will Live in Infamy: The Attack on Pearl Harbor”, and is scheduled for Thursday, December 9th at 7pm. Tricia Menke, curator of education at the National Museum of the American Sailor at Naval Station Great Lakes, discusses the shocking attack on Pearl Harbor in Hawaii on December 7, 1941. Menke examines the events leading up to the Japanese invasion, how the sailors and nurses reacted and the aftermath and legacy of the attack.
These free events are presented online through the Zoom platform. Both require prior registration to the FDMuseum.org.
