State Lawmakers Hold Free Health and Wellness Fair for Seniors in Carbondale | New


CARBONDALE, IL — Seniors in the Carbondale, Illinois area are invited to a free health and wellness fair Aug. 24 at the Carbondale Civic Center.

The event will be hosted by State Representative Paul Jacobs, State Representative Patrick Windhorst, State Senator Terri Bryant and State Senator Dale Fowler. Organizers say representatives from several senior-serving agencies will provide materials, guides and other information to seniors about a variety of state, county and local agencies. Additionally, Illinois General Assembly staff members will be there to help attendees address concerns about state government, according to a press release about the event.

Seniors who attend the free event can also register for a chance to win a door prize, the press release says.

“I am proud to co-sponsor this free senior health fair with colleagues,” Jacobs said in a statement included in the press release. “Seniors who attend can have their blood pressure checked, get useful information from healthcare and aged care providers, check on unclaimed property the state may hold for them, and enjoy free coffee. , donuts and fruit.”
