Tom Holland would love to host the Oscars someday

Spider-Man: No Path Home is officially the highest grossing film of the year, having surpassed the billion dollar mark on Christmas. The film is receiving praise from around the world, and Marvel is seriously considering an Oscar campaign to Spider-Man: No Path Home. Tom Holland, who plays the superhero crawling on the walls, recently joked that No way home could win him an Oscar. Turns out he was really serious. In an interview with Hollywood journalist, Holland discussed his MCU future and No way home ‘s Oscar chances.

In a year in which Benedict Cumberbatch, Will Smith, Leonardo DiCaprio and Denzel Washington vie for the prestigious Best Actor award, Tom Holland’s chances of achieving Oscar glory are slim to none. Plus, superhero movies tend to be overlooked at the Oscars. However, Spider-Man: No Path Home is one of the best-received films of the year, receiving high ratings from critics and audiences alike. There’s a good chance it’ll win a Best Picture nomination.

But could we see Tom Holland hosting the Oscars? When asked the same question by THRHolland wasn’t sure his busy schedule would allow him to host, but said he wouldn’t mind doing so in the future.

“Maybe in the future, but in all fairness I’m too busy right now. I don’t have time. I have an Uncharted press tour to do, and then start filming in early March for this show. televised [Apple TV+’s The Crowded Room] which is going to take a lot of my time and it is definitely the most difficult role I have ever played. So maybe one day in the future. But no, not now. Honestly, I just don’t have the time. And you know, I would love to do that – I like that kind of thing, I like to be put under pressure and do things that I feel uncomfortable doing. So I’m interested, but I just don’t have the time. ”

But Holland quickly backed down on his comments, as if the proposal was taking a long time to blend in. Holland got a little too excited all of a sudden and said he would definitely host the Oscars if asked. He replied to the reporter:

“I just wanted to quickly pick up on what I said. You’re asking me about the Oscars – you’re the first person to talk about it – and I’m sitting here saying, ‘Sure, I would welcome the Oscar. f **** * g Oscars! ‘ I just went to the bathroom and I was looking at myself in the mirror and I was like, “What kind of idiot wouldn’t accept the Oscars?” So yeah, if they asked me, I would, and that would be a lot of fun. I would really appreciate that. ”

Tom Holland has also revealed if he would prefer a co-host. “Either / or. I don’t mind. Alone would be great, and with someone I love would be even better. I think a shared experience is always better than a solo experience.” And the first person that comes to everyone’s mind is Holland’s partner and Spider-Man: No Path Home co-starring Zendaya. Holland says he likes the idea of hosting with her, but doesn’t think that’s what Zendaya would want. “I could run it through her. But as to his answer, I’m not too sure. ”

We’re unlikely to see Holland put his charisma to good use at the 94th Academy Awards, which takes place on March 27, 2022. He’s too busy right now and has several film and TV projects in the works. Holland will next be seen alongside Mark Wahlberg in Unexplored, the live adaptation of the eponymous video game PlayStation. Unexplored releases February 11, 2021.
