The win marked the conference’s fourth roster sweep and eighth of the season, the most three-set wins since 2019. Treyaunna Rush led the team with 19 kills and four blocks for 21.5 points, his best production against C-USA opponents.
A pair of players from North Texas will continue the story Thursday night. Senior Libero Galdeira currently sits eighth on the UNT single-season digs list with a total of 457, it takes five to move up to seventh. Sh’Diamond Holly currently sits sixth in program history for his single-season mark of 131 total blocks and needs five to eclipse fifth place.
UAB (12-12, 7-5) comes into the match after a four-set victory over UTSA on Friday. Senior Fernanda Maida leads the team with 329 kills and 1,002 kills with outside hitter Alex Kells trailing with 297 kills of 881 kills. Erin Powers anchors the defense with 439 digs in 93 sets played, adding 37 service aces.
UNT led the all-time series 8-4 against the Blazers, including a pair of wins at Birmingham last season. The Mean Greens are 8-2 in their last 10 meetings, dating back to 2014.
