SAN FRANCISCO (BCN) – The US Postal Service intends to hire 1,000 people for various jobs in the Bay Area.
The service will host a hiring event in Richmond on Saturday to help applicants create and submit applications online. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Hilltop Carrier Annex, 4180 Lakeside Drive.

People can also apply by themselves to http://www.usps.com/careers.
Openings currently exist in Contra Costa, Alameda, Marin, Sonoma, Solano, Sacramento and Yolo counties and in Stockton, Lake Tahoe and Truckee regions for the following positions:
- Mail handling: mail clerks and handlers
- Delivery: urban and rural carriers
- Transport: semi-trailer drivers
- Maintenance: mechanics, day laborers and automotive technicians

Postal workers working at the career fair will adhere to social distancing and mask wearing protocols, and mask and social distancing protocols are required for all participants.
