VB: cowgirls return home to welcome Texas Southern

LAKE CHARLES – After a 0-2 weekend against Baylor, number 12 and highly skilled Rice, volleyball McNeese (5-5) returns home to host Texas Southern at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday night at the McNeese Rec complex. Fans are kindly requested to bring their own seat due to limited seating.

This will be the last tune-up game for the Cowgirls before Saturday’s Southland Conference opener at Houston Baptist.

Freshman Aryn Johnson continues to lead the Cowgirls with 81 kills and is third on the team with 50 digs and eight aces serving.

Senior Regan Stiawalt leads the team with 14 serving aces and is second on the team with 61 digs and 70 kills.

The passer Cela Harness had a team record 165 assists and Lizzy Low leads the team with 78 digs. The blocks were dominated by Kendall glueck (22) and Bria Plante (22).

Texas Southern (1-11) enters the game after losing its last 10 games. The Tigers’ only win of the season came against Southern at the Nicholls tournament on the season opener.

Texas Southern’s top kill leader Thalia Cordero Moreno leads the Tigers with 90 kills and is second on the team with 11 aces serving. Danielle Lilly follows her with 81 kills and leads the team with eight aces serving.
